Social Media Gives Everyone an Invitation to Fashion Week

Fashion Week has always been something that is a bit of a decadent mystery to everyone who isn't the worlds most famous icons. All of the most famous, historic, luxurious brands show off this seasons newest designs in the most star studded venues- Fashion Week is second to the Met Gala. From the time I was little, I had always wondered what it was like, how to get invited, and also what all went into putting on a fashion show.

Now-a-days all you have to do is log onto social media. There you will see all of the backstage show prepping- from makeup to hair to getting the models dressed- to the after show parties. Now you can sit alongside Anna Wintour at the Saint Laurent show. Instagram (and other various social apps) has opened up the fashion world to the outsiders and it has only been for the better. Now people are more aware of brands and trends and also they get a glimpse of what it feels like to be famous. Brands have perfectly integrated social media into their shows in order to give everyone a chance to sit front row, all the while keeping the same elite feeling.

Even Google is in on the game. When you search "Paris Fashion Week", the looks from the latest shows are display. Everything is right there for the viewer to discover. There is no more waiting for October's Vogue issue to come out. People who are genuinely interested in fashion have an all access pass to seeing the newest runway designs and how they might come to life on the red carpet. People who just like pretty things are able to flip through Instagram photos and see the dresses. People who are into pop-culture utilize this exciting new development as well.
